The Scholastic Book Fair will take place in the library from December 9-13. Students are invited to browse and make wish lists during the first three days, with the final two days reserved for drop-in shopping. Here's how to make this book fair the best one yet for your child:

Set up an eWallet

The eWallet is a debit account. You can set one up on the Westlawn Book Fair website and even share the link with family and friends for contributions directly for your child. At the fair, your child simply gives their name at checkout and can purchase their books without needing to carry around a baggie of loose cash all day. Any money left over in the eWallet will still be available to spend at Scholastic online, or to be rolled into a new eWallet for next year's fair.

Talk About Expectations with Your Child

The book fair has books, craft/toy kits, and stationary supplies. Talk with your child ahead of the event so they know your expectations for how they spend their money. Lots of families ask children to buy at least one book before they spend extra money on toys or fancy pens.

Volunteer at the Book Fair

It takes many hands to make the fair a success! Volunteer jobs might be running the cash register, helping children write wish lists, making the displays look nice, or restocking wish list clipboards. Sign up for one or more shifts volunteering at the book fair.

Contribute to a Teacher's eWallet

Some staff members have set up eWallets, which works the same way as student eWallets. Staff members will use funds collected toward books for their classrooms. More eWallets will be added as staff share the links. Search for a staff eWallet to make a contribution.

Attend the Book Fair

The Family and Friends Night at the book fair will be Tuesday, December 10, from 3:30-6:15. This is the same night as the band and strings winter concert, and we encourage you to make it an evening of books, friends, and music!
