Congratulations to Anna Woodward on being recognized as the March FCPS Cares Recipient of the Month for Region 2 by the Department of Human Resources. Congratulations, Ms. Woodward!

This is one of many recognitions for Ms. Woodward's Super Kindness Challenge!

Below is the write up submitted by Ms. Sally Stephens, a colleague of Ms. Woodward.

Anna Woodward created an original program for the entire school to help promote kindness for all students. This program, the Super Kindness Challenge, allows students to nominate their peers or teachers for big or little kindnesses they show at school. Those nominated receive a cape as they are recognized as a Super Kindness Hero! This idea came from a way to help her 2nd-grade students recognize and show kindness, and has expanded to include every student and teacher at Westlawn. ALL students are excited about it, and kindness is certainly spreading here! It has turned a time of year (early spring) that traditionally experiences a lot of referrals and poor behavior choices into a time to show and spread kindness. She is a true superhero here at Westlawn! On Thursday, March 15, Mrs. Woodward even promoted the program on NBC4 news with over 100 students. Her positivity is truly inspiring.
