Ms. Marisa Johnson is joining the Westlawn team as a school counselor.

What excites you most about joining the Westlawn community?

I am excited to return to my alma mater because of the community! Way back when I attended Westlawn ES, my best memories are the community events (field day, fun run, book fairs, international night, jump rope for heart, etc.) and I am excited to be part of them again. I am looking forward to the collaboration and teamwork that makes this community so great.

Tell us a little more about yourself!

I grew up in the area (attended Westlawn, Luther Jackson and Falls Church '13) before heading to Bridgewater College to play field hockey. I transitioned into a college field hockey coach, while getting my Masters in Education for School Counseling, before returning back to FCPS. I got married in 2023 and we just adopted our dog, Noodle, from Turkey this past January! Besides walking Noodle, I still play soccer, volunteer as a wingman for Athletes Serving Athletes, love traveling and am a big foodie (!), started training for my first marathon, enjoy reading and cheering on my favorite sports teams (Go Clemson Tigers)!
