Ms. Cassie Thompson is officially a Westlawn staff member this year in 3rd grade after being a site-based substitute teacher last year.

What excites you most about remaining in the Westlawn community?

Last year I worked at Westlawn as a site based sub and loved getting to know the community. I felt instantly at home, which I had not really felt at other schools. In the spring, I became a full time sub for a 3rd grade teacher who went on maternity leave. As the school year came to a close, I was presented with the opportunity to become a full time teacher at Westlawn. I am super excited for the opportunity to return, get to know my new class, and continue making connections at Westlawn this year. 

Tell us a little more about yourself!

This is my 5th year teaching! I lived in Baltimore, Maryland for the past 8 years and taught 4th grade. I now live in Falls Church with my partner. We have 2 cats, Tuna and Nori. In my free time, I enjoy making costumes/sewing, traveling to different national parks, and going to concerts.
